Truck Crushes Popular Traditional Ruler To Death

An Ogun monarch killed by a truck that crushed him inside keke.

Oba Abraham Olusegun Bankole, the Olu of Onibuku in the Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State, was killed when a truck ran over him.

On Tuesday, July 25, 2023, a liquor-filled vehicle allegedly drove over a tricycle carrying the king, also known as Keke Napep, on the Ota-Idiroko motorway not far from Winners Chapel.

The Oba was reportedly smashed by the truck with the licence plate EPE 252 XF as he attempted to get off the tricycle, killing him instantly.

The event was confirmed by Florence Okpe, the FRSC's local Ogun spokeswoman.

The incidence was told to me today," the woman said.

The FRSC in Ota Unit, according to Okpe, has not yet given her a complete briefing.

The monarch's remains were taken to the General Hospital in Ota, where they were placed while policemen moved the truck off the road.

The event was also confirmed by Babatunde Akinbiyi, a spokesperson for the Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps.

Akinbiyi said that his officer had received information about the tragic tragedy.

Yes, that's accurate. Today there was an accident in the neighbourhood, and one person was killed, he stated.

He continued, "Corps Commander and Chief Executive Officer of Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency sympathises with the family of the Kabiyesi and the entire community."

First-class Oba in Ogun West, who told newsmen about the incident, expressed sorrow at the monarch's choice to travel by tricycle rather than private vehicle.

According to rumours, Oba Bankole may have parked his automobile as a result of the increase in petrol prices at the pump.
