California man who rammed car of teens who played doorbell prank convicted of murder

A Toyota Prius at the scene of a fatal crash on Jan. 20, 2020, in the Temescal Valley, south of Corona, Calif.

In Riverside County, three teenage boys were struck by a car driven by Anurag Chandra, killing three of them and injuring three others. The vehicle they were riding in then careened off the road and into a pole, according to authorities.

A jury sentenced Chandra, 45, on Friday of three counts of first-degree murder and three counts of endeavored murder.

In a statement released on Friday, Riverside County District Attorney Mike Hestrin stated, “The murder of these young men was a horrendous and senseless tragedy for our community.” This is a significant step in the direction of justice.”

Killed in the Jan. 19, 2020, crash were Daniel Hawkins of Crown; Drake Ruiz of Crown; furthermore, Jacob Ivascu of Riverside. All of them were 16 years old.
